Three weeks and counting

The babies are now three weeks old......the time seems to fly, and their eyes and ears are now open enough for them to be taking things in, initiating  play, walking properly and becoming a bit more vocal......they even had their 1st group howl this weekend! We are piloting the new KC Assured breeders "puppy plan" puppy socialisation scheme www.thepuppyplan.com and it will be interesting to see if we notice any particular differences with this litter. Certainly they are loving the paw rubbing!

Heres a few snaps of some of the babies,

Eyes wide shut!

Today was another milestone in the little peoples life....their eyes have started to open. (Although from this photo you would never know as they spend most of their time relaxing like this!!!)

Catching up!

Im slowly catching up with the emails and calls........thankyou to everyone who has enquired to see how mum and babies are doing.....so far so good. Im wondering whether somewhere along the line this little liver boy has stood in the paint pot!?

Good to hear from Farlap Bourbon, and to get some uptodate photos. Here he is helping his mum take a self portrait!

The little pups are looking like contenders for the "syncronised suckling team" for 2012 Olympics, (see video attached) and Baffle is enjoying a spot of table dancing, such are the talents at Farlap!!

The day approaches

The day of the puppies birth is fast approching and we are now on full red alert, and ready for iminent arrival. Candle on the other hand has poo pooed the whelping bed, and taken up residence on Logics bed by the book case, and she is refusing to budge!! Im hoping we dont have a sitting room birth! A few minor hitches (such as the cctv dying on us) have made it a stressful weekend but hopefully we are now on track for the birth.

Tennants wild day out

We decided to fit in just one last foray befor Candle has her babies (any day now!) and took Tennant onto the marsh for a days wildfowling. Hed never seen a goose up close before, let alone had them falling out of the sky around him, but he took to it like.....well like a duck to water!! here he is bringing Andrews second bird from the river, across the ice, to the safety of the gully. The three of us had a fantastic day, and are looking forward to lots more wildfowling next season. Now I can get down to the serious business of playing Midwife to Candle, and Tennant can relax for a few months until next season starts!
